2-Day Private Wildlife Photography Workshop

2-Day Private Wildlife Photography Workshop

There is no better way to learn, and have a great time, than attending a private 2-day Wildlife Photography Workshop. Although these workshops are private, you can bring a friend at a reduced price, allowing you to split the expense and save.

The Private Wildlife Photography Workshop is ideal for beginners to intermediate wildlife photographers. You’ll receive personal instruction as well as practice your new skills in the field shooting wildlife. In addition, you will have the opportunity to experience an assortment of lenses and equipment.

Our Private Wildlife Photography Workshop offers flexible scheduling, allowing you to choose the dates that best fit your schedule.

Day 1

We’ll start day 1 at 9A.M. at the studio of Michael’s Photography in Fort Smith, AR. There will be plenty of coffee and doughnuts as we begin the day discussing the camera, settings, histograms, and more. If you’ve previously been shooting in auto or program mode, you’ll be using Aperture Priority and full Manual mode by lunch.

By noon we’ll be ready to load up and head to a chosen location to begin practicing what we’ve learned. Although there’s no way to know what wildlife we’ll encounter, we do know that there will be wildlife such as birds (large and small), beavers, possums, armadillos, or deer.

Day 1 is focused on learning the best modes and settings for using our cameras to photograph wildlife. In addition you’ll have the opportunity, while on location, to ask questions, use an assortment of lenses, learn techniques for using the different lenses, teleconverters, proper stabilization, tripods, and tripod heads.

Day 2

No sleeping in on day 2 as we will meet early, as in before sunrise, to begin our day. On day 2 we will be in the field shooting wildlife during their most active time of the day. This will allow us to use the modes, settings, and techniques learned in day 1 to capture some great images.

When we’ve finished shooting, we’ll break for lunch and meet back at the studio to begin editing our images captured that morning.

You’ll learn fundamental editing techniques, using Lightroom and Photoshop, allowing you to edit your images and ask questions during the editing process.

To finish day 2, we’ll look at and discuss all of your edited images.

This is a well rounded workshop ideal for beginners to intermediate wildlife photographers. With classroom and field work included, you’ll be better prepared with the knowledge and skill set to capture better wildlife images.
